Shop Build...should be a fun journey...

    Thread Starter: Jim Becker

I debated about starting this thread now or later, but decided on now because, well...I might forget something. :o As a little background, at our previous property, I was blessed with a reasonably sized, fully conditioned space for my shop in what was originally a three-and-a-half vehicle garage...

    My OneFinity has Landed

    Thread Starter: John TenEyck

After a long 8 weeks and 5 days my Journeyman was delivered by UPS this past Tuesday. Fortunately, everything arrived in good shape. Thread Starter: Lisa Starr

I've been making some items in our metal shop the last few days and utilizing metric dimensions. Once I got used to metric, it seems incredibly easy to use. Of course, I wouldn't be able to tell you something was 200 mm long at a glance like I can in the Imperial system but that would come with...

-- do you shake your milk?

    Thread Starter: Kev Williams

Just curious if anyone else shakes their milk? Not too long ago the wife heard about this somewhere, so... Every time I'm in the fridge, I grab the gallon jug of milk, and shake the daylights out of it... When I do this, the milk will go as much as 12 days past the expiration date before...

    Laser engraver exhaust CFM

I think a fare amount of the issues are user error driven. For a hobby level machine that cost about $500, it works as advertised so far.

    vicmarc 300 Bed Extensions

It probably could be able to handle that. Main thing would be making sure every thing lines up and is supported properly. Don't know if they make legs

    14 Bandsaw - Which one

Just grab a few 'sewing machine' led lights off Amazon for $20 and plug them into a 110v outlet. Even if it works at 220v, not worth even the cost of

How to remove Linseed Oil finish?

I have thought that linseed oil was a good choice for things like your nice bowl. Raw linseed oil is non toxic (I think). I would give it a rub with scotchbrite

How to remove Linseed Oil finish?

Maybe wet sanding with a solvent, or if you are going to use a solvent based finish that could work too. I always use the walnut oil finishes, specifically
