I thought about posting this to the business section, because I'd really like input from professionals who use their shop as a business. For those of you who make $ or even a living making furniture or cabinets, how long does it take for a sliding table saw to pay for itself compared to a track saw...
Last Post By: Kevin Jenness Today, 9:25 PMMy new location does not have 3-phase service so I will be installing a phase converter to power my sanders, spray booth fan, and some other smaller pieces of equipment. I am leaning hard towards the Phase Perfect. For new equipment purchases, when there is an option for either single phase or...
Last Post By: Jonathan Jung Yesterday, 10:41 PMOne of my habits (not going to debate whether it is good or bad) is to keep extras of many things. This has mostly been made stronger by living miles from the nearest retail establishment of any kind. A round trip to town is going to take up at least an hour or two, not to mention the cost of...
Last Post By: John K Jordan Today, 6:20 PMI’ve seen it suggested by several woodworkers that you can get by with a single mortise chisel, e.g., 1/4 or 5/16. I’m interested in building shaker style furniture, and there are many 1/2 mortises. Many tables have a 1 1/2 leg, so that would be a 1/2 mortise using the rule of one third. That seems...

Joe Calhoon Today, 10:08 PMI have two of those Michael. One a Rockwell I bought new, and the other one a Porter Cable that was too good to pass up.
Andy, are you talking
Gelcoat doesn't sound right to me, but it may be. I don't believe an invisible repair can be made on that stuff. I can do an invisible gelcoat repair

new bandsaw wont' cut straight
Thread Starter: Forrest GonMy first bandsaw, a new rikon 10-3061, set it up according to the manual and various youtube tutorials such as Alex Snodgrass's method (align the blade, tension the blade, thrust bearings and side guides) Now the issue is: the saw just won't cut straight, it will pull the wood off the fence...
