    I just did the unthinkable.

    Thread Starter: Rick Potter

Tool junkie heresy. I am getting ready to add a new garage for my old cars, and I have been storing too many tools. Today, I hauled a perfectly good 12" Rockwell single phase 110/220 turret RAS to Goodwill. I just didn't want to fool with selling it. I sure picked a lousy day to do it. ...

    Jorgensen clamps at Lowes

    Thread Starter: Edwin Santos

Hi, I don't quite know what the story is with the orange Jorgensen bar clamps. At one point I heard the century old company went out of business. Then I heard a Chinese company bought them and planned to resurrect the line. Today I saw a six pack of 6" 3700 series bar clamps at Lowes. They're in...

    How hard is Marquetry?

    Thread Starter: Frederick Skelly

I'm getting a tad bored and have been thinking about ways to embellish simple pieces. Earlier today, I was reading old issues of FWW and came across an article on Marquetry. * How hard is it to learn Marquetry? I'm not looking to make Mona Lisa's. Maybe just simple geometric designs on boxes....

    Tall Case Oak Clock

    Thread Starter: William Chain

I've just completed my most complicated project so far - a tall case oak clock based on the plans from Norm Abram and the New Yankee Workshop. From first rough stock into the garage to accurate timepiece in the hall was just about 8 months to the day. The plans I got were very outdated and...

When can you walk on plants sprayed with Roundup

    Thread Starter: Don Morris

I know about Non Hodg... Lymph... I just want to know when I can walk on the plants I will spray with Roundup so that I don't take residual spray to the rest of the yard. 30mins? 1 hr? Anybody with experience here? At some point I can walk on them to get to parts of the yard that the sprayed...

    Quality workmanship

    Thread Starter: Phil Mueller

Im sure there have been many rants, but it is disappointing to see the lack of quality work SOME wish to pass off on customers. Were in the final stages of a bathroom remodel. It seems a few of the sub-contractors are totally ok with doing a mediocre/poor job and then returning to do it right...

    Used lathe price question

I am on a limited disability income so I wasn't looking to upgrade my Jet 1642 to something else. But may have an opportunity to upgrade to a used Powermatic

That's a good point about moving material, Keith. Getting heavy blanks up off the floor mechanically would be nice. I've found a local builder willing

    Chop saw station.

I would position the saw on the bench so you have a minimum 8' on one side (left preferably) for cut in center of board and 14' on right side for uneven

When can you walk on plants sprayed with Roundup

I wear gloves and cover up when dealing with poison ivy. My point was 99% of roundup use is laziness. Its a product that shouldn't never have been created.
