I read a post over on WoodCentral where folks were complaining about being able to get certain model lathes. One responder mentioned he had heard or read somewhere that some of the lathe manufacturers were not able to meet the demand because of castings being slow to get to them. Jet, Grizzly, Delta were mentioned by name, and I do see some delays in shipping due to being out of stock. Perhaps this explains why some models seem to be hard to get, including some midi models. Just thought I'd post this as I saw something about this a few weeks ago as well, but have no way of knowing how it affects any particular vendor.
Seems environmental regs are now hitting China manufacturers, especially foundries, and it is affecting how quickly machines are being shipped out. Factories having to retool and some I hear are relocating, so delays in receiving orders seems the norm for the present time.
The G0766 just went from 'backordered' to 'estimated shipping date 6/22/18'. Good news since I'm waiting for one
Seems like it is more than lathes. My Griz dust collector ordered in early April, backordered until June 18.
