Has any one tried to do a Tilt A Way tail stock set up? This is the style that swings the tail stock down and behind the lathe bed. I know Powermatic sells the tilt mechanism and others, but wondering how much work to make it fit the G0766.
I forget who it was, but I think I recall seeing someone who made one out of a very large hinge, and drilled holes to fit the end of the bed, and of course had to cut the hinge at an angle. Maybe a google search for shop built swing away or such would yield results for you.
Try the post by Neal DaMommio on the Turners forum a few days ago called "DIY swing away and down". It includes three photos. Doesn't look that difficult, most difficult looks like getting everything aligned. The original post was on 7/18/2018. JAy
