looking to become a new member here by purchasing a G0766. Getting ready to pull the trigger. Hoping someone has a coupon they can share to save me a few bucks.

I wish I had one to share, but I don’t. I hope someone else has one they can.....this is a great group, and the G0766 is a great lathe for the money. Probably the most bang for the buck available. I’ve had mine over 3 years now, and it has been great!

Mark, Thanks very much for the code. I placed the order and used the code. They accepted the code but I did not see any discount resulting from its use. Oh well, she's ordered and I'm excited to get it.

Tom, I had read your post in the other area of SMC regarding your control circuit board. Congratulations on your new lathe. I think that you'll really love it. I too started with a Craftsman lathe (a 9") and eventually upgraded to the G0766.

Congrats on the G0766. It is a very good lathe, and an exceptional value. You will find it will do anything a Powermatic 3520b or C will do and then can do more due to the extra swing and distance between centers vs, the Powermatics.

G0766 lathe came today. Nicely packed. I don't have it together yet, as I'm waiting on my son to come over to help me stand it up. I did take the crate apart, pulled the legs out, took the tail stock out, and inventoried all the smaller parts. I also cleaned up the cosmoline. Glad they only used it sparingly. Only took a few minutes to clean it off. Quite different from my planer. That took me about 2 hours to get all the goo off of it.

Thus far, all things are looking great. Timing of delivery wasn't so good. It arrived in bitter cold with snow falling steady and about 4" on the ground. The UPS guy was crying about the weather and had the nerve to ask me to meet him somewhere with a pickup truck to get my lathe. Well, you can imagine my response. He reluctantly showed up about 30 minutes later. Lazy man for sure. He unloaded at the end of my driveway and watched while I rolled it the 75' to my garage. But, that's not the end. My shop is not in my garage. It is about 300 feet downhill from the garage in my backyard. Luckily I have a tractor with some cheap chain-on bucket forks. Even with the snow, ice, and slopes I was able to get it to my shop and finesse it through the door all by myself (well me and my tractor).

You are a hard man, Sir. I understand your enthusiasm, but in those conditions, I'm surprised the UPS driver even tried to make the delivery at all. The drivers are responsible for their rigs. Certainly wouldn't call him lazy.
