Bracket for the holes in the stand legs?

I knew the holes were there on the sides/ends of the legs. I didn't know that out of the 5 three of them are threaded.

Too long ago for me to remember if they had anything to do with shipping.

I was thinking of putting a 2x8 flat on the holes on each leg with a cross bar running on the back side to mount or be able to clamp some machine lights on. Anybody done this? Does grizzly make something that goes in those hole?

Guess on the size of them so I don't have to buy a bunch of wrong size to get the ones I need?

The holes look suspiciously like the ones on the nova 16x44 lathe...... Can't find anything on that website either.

I used those holes on my 0766 to rig a wooden shelf unerneath the ways for extra rigidity of the lathe frame, and use it for placing my gouges when in use, and also small blanks of wood or a chuck if I use more than one size durong a project.

What size bolts for the threaded ones do you remember?

Do you think the bar/ 2x4 running behind the lathe would work for a mounting place? My version of a lathe track system.

I just wonder about the beam clamps on that track system wood turners wonders sells taking little chunks out of the cast iron.

Been a few years…I don’t remember what size bolt I used. I have a lot of spare nuts/bolts/screws in the shop from over the years, so it was likely I rummaged thru them until I found a match. Good luck!

Since i'm a pack rat, I saved all of the shipping bolts that came with my 733. Used some angle iron to make brackets to support a rail on the back, shelves on both ends, all bolted in place with the left over bolts.

I too am a pack rat. I have too much stuff ratted away and don't know where I would look for them.

I took a picture of the bolt but can’t figure out how to post it. I only see how to link to a url. Anyway the bolt that fits in the holes has the markings “CH” and “4.8”. Hope that helps.

I think I need to find some kind of therapy after being violated in ace hardware yesterday.

The bolts are 10 mm I figured out. And like an idiot when I bought a piece of angle iron to go across the back of the lathe I was in pekin il and didn't want to drive the other direction to the menards. Figured I would get it at the ace on the way home. helpful hardware man my butt. 6 ten mm bolts and 6 nuts (two had to be stainless because they were out of regular)

After tax was $18 something. I should have walked out but I didn't. But I'm all set for lights now.

I used some of the holes by in the legs by the headstock to mount my vacuum pump. IIRC, my G0766 came with a few extra bolts that fit those holes.

Some day I might build a swing-away for the tailstock and would use those holes
