I posted another steady rest, fabricated this time for our club. This one is gold in color and to be used on our clubs two PM 3520b lathes.
Very nice Roger.. How did you cut the tubes and the bottom on the ring?
Base on the bottom was cut with a steel blade on the circular saw. Flange ring bottom was cut with a plasma cutter, as well as the alignment plates that fit between the ways. Square tubes were cut on a portaband saw mounted to a Swag Off Road table that holds the portabandsaw vertically like a large bandsaw.
Roger question where do you get your wheels for the steady rest Amazon Ebay or just a local shop? I saw some on ebay that have ceramic bearing
I’ve gotten them from Amazon.com.
Thanks for the info
