I bought my Grizzly G0766 about 2 years ago. I got a 10% off coupon from a Youtube video and after shipping and sales tax, it came to just under $2200.00. I did a lot of research and felt pretty good about my purchase. It's the most expensive tool in the shop. I have been very happy with it. This evening, I went onto the Grizzly website and see where the the G0766 is listed at $2995.00 plus $239.00 shipping. Wow. After adding on the sales tax, that lathe is going to be close to $3,500.00 now.
Yep…inflation is at a 40 year high now that the current administration is doing their best to change our economy by cutting off oil pipelines and such. Every thing you need costs way more now…we were energy independent and exported some oil under the last administration, now we are again at the whims of OPEC and other entities….

Dave, we certainly do not focus on anything political. Perhaps an occasional mention of something gets posted, but my point was a reply to the price increases of Grizzly lathes, and what I said has a definite bearing on the prices of those tools...as well as everything else. Heck I Bought mine back in sept. 2015 and paid a total of $1667.80 that's with tax. I live in MO. so just drove 2.5 hours showroom and picked it up
I paid $2200 in January 2019. Had I bought just a few months earlier, before the tariffs were imposed, it would have been $1700.
