I've pondered this for a few months now. Has the GGMG run its course as far as usefulness? I know there is some really good information in many of the threads, but it seems very few posts in recent months. Anyone interested in becoming moderator of the GGMG? Of course if I see something I feel like I can help with, I will comment.
No, where would I turn to see what Roger is doing? Grizzly lathes to me get very negative coverage in the wood turning community. We need some place where like minded people can come together. I love my Grizzly and this is my second one and loved the first one as well, it was just too small. I do not know what every club member has as far as a lathe but I think I am the only one I know of in my club that has a full size one. I did my research and it was the best bang for the dollar I could find and I have no regrets after 2-3 years. I owe the current lathe purchase to you Roger, based on your reviews on this site. I understand it appears you might be only person posting but I read each and every one. To me you are an invaluable resource and I would hate to see this go away.
Thanks Mark!
Roger, every time that I log on to SMC, I check the GGMG for new posts. Brice/Bruce
I check in to see if there's any new posts every couple of days. Sometimes I can add something and sometimes it's beyond my expertise.
I think there is valuable information on the GGMG.
Some very valuable info for those of us in the green monster camp
Roger, I enjoy the forum but I can't get the search feature to work. I am using the search for this forum, not the one at the top of the page, and no matter what I search for it doesn't find anything. Last night I was browsing thru all the pages and see most of my issues already had answers. I just couldn't find them. What am I doing wrong? Harold
Harold, back about 18months ago, SMC went through a transition to new servers, & updating the forum software from V-bulletin to zenforo, proposed changes, etc, and was actually not functional for some hours as they expanded their servers. During that time, not everything was put back like it was. I even got notice the "groups" were likely not to remain, but I guess they saw that the GGMG was pretty large, and Grizzly is an official sponsor of SMC, so let it come back, although not as fully capable as previously was.
