Hunker'd down or turning?

Since the covid-19 situation has curtailed lots of activities, work, travel etc., it might be a good time to ramp up your turning adventures, increase your skills, and if you sell, get things made for when things return to normal. Just thinking.

Also, I've had inquiries by private message on this an other forums about the G0800, and the G0766. Seems there is a good bit of interest in these two models, still.

I have a question for newer G0766 owners. I know Grizzly had the banjo modified to a 1" hole for the toolrest, but did they also reduce the size of the spindle boss to accept most chuck adapters?

I got my G0766 last Summer. It had the 1" tool rest but the spindle still needed to be filed down just a little to accept my Record Power chuck. It took all of maybe 2 minutes with a flat file at a low speed. I probably went more carefully than was necessary but I didn't want to screw it up.

I got mine in October, the spindle boss accepts my SuperNova 2 and Titan 3 chucks no filing required. I have both a dedicated chuck and one that takes an insert, both fit with no issues.

My banjo has the 1" hole for the toolrest. I purchased some round stock and made several new rests, the fit is perfect.

Right now I am using the PSI spindle adapter to work with my 1x8 Talon check. It fit perfect with no modifications.
