I communicated with a gentleman from Harvey Industries regarding a tailstock riser for their Turbo 60 lathe, as it would also fit the G0800. This would be useful for use on the bed extension to set the tailstock on to bring the live center in line with the spindle center when using the bed extension on the lower position.

He is supposed to get back to me sometime in the next few days, and I’ll let you know how it goes....stay tuned!

Hi Roger I have the G0800 and also the bed extension and I am wonder what would be the advantage to having a tailstock riser sense the the extension can be raised to the same height as the lathe bed.

Hi Ted... the tailstock riser would allow for the tailstock to sit on the bed extension in the lower position where one could have centers aligned for tailstock support while turning large platters or shallow bowls. Oneway & Laguna carries the tailstock riser platform for their 24” class lathes, & outboard setup, which is basically a platform in which the tailstock clamps down on it, and it clamps down on the bed extension.

    I see that makes sense.

Roger, I'm curious... are the five (?) holes on each end of the legs the same pattern on the G0766 as on the G0800.

I have not looked at that Bruce, but when I get time, I’ll put a tape measure on them to see......stay tuned. Of course the 0766 was manufactured by the Burt Group, and the 0800 by Harvey Industries Machine co. So maybe not?
