    Hi,

I have a speedy 300 and I was wondering if someone could point me to a video that shows the correct method for cleaning a lens?

i am following what is in the manual and what the install engineer showed me but I seem to be all fingers and thumbs and panicing that it is not getting cleaned properly because I am being too gentle.

i realise that you can't show how hard to rub on a video but it would be good to see the steps and how the experienced users put the cleaning cloth and cleaning fluid onto the lens etc.

I hope this makes since and some one can help me.

    Thanks,

    Graham

p.s. This laser lark is very addictive

    Graham,

I don't know of a video, and I often wonder myself if I'm being too hard or too soft when cleaning the lens. I was told by my rep to put a couple drops on the lens, and wait for a minute or two. Then, also apply a drop or two to the cleaning tissue. Then softly swirl the tissue on the lens. Let dry. That's all I know, and it seems to work OK, but again, not sure of the pressure to apply, or if it needs to be wiped dry or let sit and dry...

    Graham,

I use Qtips to clean my laser engraver lenses with the solution that shipped with the machine. About three drops of the solution on the end of a Qtip then swipe the Qtip across the lens. Rotate the Qtip before making the next pass so you don't smear any dirt or dust. I never use a cloth.
