Has anyone retro-fitted a coaxial air-assist nozzle to their Epilog and, if so, any real-world issues / benefits? One person mentioned that once fitted it is not possible to run without air-assist, but I don't know. Steve.
I bought a 4" lens, which mad the distance from the air assist to the work a bit too far. So I found that a short piece of plastic tube for fishtanks slipped right onto the nozzle. Then I used a piece of annealed copper wire (used in Bonzai tree training), and coiled it from the metal nozzle all the way to the tip of the plastic tube. It gives me great control of my air assist placement, and the wire keeps the plastic from getting into the laser beam path. Costs next to nothing, and works like a charm.
Brilliant idea.
