Had a GO766 on backorder.....supposed to be in at the end of this month. Grizzly just sent me an email informing me that they're adding a $500 tarriff fee to the purchase. I don't have an option but to cancel the order. My guess is that Trump will rescind the tarriffs in short order.
This tarriff thing may take a while to sort itself out. Basically a game of chicken, to see which side blinks first! Sorry you’re caught in the middle of it all!
I feel your pain. In January I ordered the 766 and waited 2 months with a little drama at the end. In April I ordered a DC from Grizzly and was given a back order date of early May. This started slipping as May got closer and then planted on July 2nd. When Mr. Balolia posted the Tariff post, I called CS and was told that the new date was now August 28 and if the tariffs were still in place that I would be charged the premium. I decided to cut bait and so I called Laguna and was told they were shipping immediately. Rockler had them on sale so i ordered. It is on a truck as we speak and will be delivered on the 19th. While I like Grizzly because it is semi local to me and the value is really good, but with the constant back order status and tariffs I can't justify it. My next purchase will be a band saw, so we will see then if the value is still there.
Yeah. Cancelled my order for a G0766 also. Went with the Laguna 1836 which is just a couple hundred more now with the tariff, and also a more refined machine. Hopefully that order does not fall through also as that will mean I will stick with my Harbor Freight 1236 a while longer :-(. Jon

Just checked.....tarriff fee went down by a couple hundred dollars. Looks like they've finally assessed the fee based on their landed cost vs retail price. Still gonna wait though.
I heard on the news yesterday that the USA and China trade reps are scheduled to meet late in August to try and iron out some of these tariff issues. If they are sucessful, then perhaps the Chinese will take off the tariffs they have imposed and so will we. The goal is to level the playing field, so hang in there Jerry!
