My tail stock on my G0776 is stuck. It won't extend. It was over extended. Anybody had this problem and more importantly anybody got a suggestion for fixing it? The end wheel will not crank at all. We have forced it quite a bit and still no luck. - Resolved - Thanks!

Same thing happened to me a month ago. I was able to free it up but it would only move about an inch. Grizzly sent me a new lead screw and quill. I never could get mine fixed.

After I posted I explored the tailstock a little more and removed the quill. It is the quill that has failed and will not turn. I will talk to Grizzly as I am well under one year.

Jeff, they will replace it under warranty at no charge. I am wondering if you just cranked it out too far, or was there something that prevented the quill from retracting like galled up threads?

I received the new quill and lead screw from Grizzly today. Is there any grease I should or should not use on the lead screw when I install it in the quill?

White lithium grease is the way to go, Jeff. It is durable enough to protect, and yet not sludge up with dust. I also like some of the clear lithium greases available in tubes, that have teflon in them. Even 3in1 oil will work, but may have to be reapplied every so often.

I am glad you recommended white lithium Roger because that is what I bought today! Thanks again.
