Hi Warren, of course you are correct! I think Derek must have had a small stroke. He now argues black is grey. I build for at least 100 years so my grandkids can enjoy my furniture. The difference between mitre grain and end grain is trivial. Glue is to secure a mechanical joint where you don’t have side grain. Even side grain benefits from a spline. Regards William
