Conversation Between Paul Greathouse and David Milstone

  1. Hi Paul,

I've found more information about the 1512,. Itappears to be one of the "good" DeWalt RAS still made (by B&D) during the era when quality of many DeWalt RAS was declining. I am trying to acquire it from the owner. We'll see. I currently have a Rockwell Super 900 RAS, which is great. It's small though and 9 inch blades are hard to find. I bought it for $25 on CL in complete working condition so I can't complain about paying a little more for blades. The 1512 should provide more power and, especially, deeper cuts due to the motor design and longer crosscut capacity. I'm also playing with them. They are fun.

I did not get the Dewalt RAS. Nothing against the saw I just had too many other interests, woodworking & otherwise, going on at the time. I check in at craigslist and ebay every once in a while to see if something good pops up. I probably don't really need a RAS with all the other cutting options I have, I would just like to have one to play with. Let me know if you find a good one and how you like it.
  3. Hi Paul,

Just wondering if you went for the DeWalt 1512 RAS? If so how did it work out? I am looking at one and can find next to no information about them.

    Thanks.

    Dave
