I have the old Delta cast iron lathe. It has a vfd so it requires 240 volt single or three phase. It has a variable speed drive in the base. I had stripped and painted it but i put it outside when I got my metal lathe so the ways have surface rust all over. It is on the heavy sheet metal cabinet. It is probably about 1950.
