I don't know what friends do on SMC, but I have accepted your friend request. (If you aren't aware, there is a woodworking club in Austin that meets on the first Thursday of each month - I expect to end my term as president this coming meeting.) I am far more active as a "friend" on facebook, and use SMC and Family Woodworking as woodworking forums, not as social sites.
