Regarding HNT Gordon planes. I gave owned several of Terry's planes. The fit and finish are excellent. However - they're really expensive. I'm a fan of the ECE/Primus planes which have a more traditional blade + chip breaker and adjust with a screw mechanism. I'm with you on the Norris - too much fiddling required.
