Hi Jerry, I'd like to try and adapt your "porcupine style faceplate" to use with natural edged bowls and platters. The twist would be having some of the screws adjustable (extendable) to hold the curved blank at it's best angle. Do you think extending screws further out from the faceplate (adjusting for the curved workpiece) would create any problems? I like to turn natural edged platters and shallow bowls from waste cut-offs I get free at a local sawmill. The slabs are the initial outside cuts made on a log - usually 2inches +/- thick.
