    Time for some levity

    Thread Starter: Dave Anderson NH

With all of the negativity and political stuff going on with the Covid-19 virus it is time to look at the humorous side of things. Feel free to add more, but keep it clean or it will be deleted.

    Stock market😰

    Thread Starter: dennis thompson

I’m hanging in there so far,but it’s surely painful. I’ve moved some money from technology to less volatile investments but there really is no place to hide, maybe cash, but you know what they say about market timing. What are you doing?

In The Grocery Section, Disappearing Store Brands

    Thread Starter: Bruce Wrenn

Recently (in the last year,) I have noticed more and more "store brands" disappearing from the shelves. The stores where I regularly shop (excluding Aldi's) now only have Campbell's soup. Walmart has a very limited selection of their in house "Great Value" brand soup. Same goes for oatmeal, only...

I bought an old Unisaw.... now I have to get it home

    Thread Starter: Zachary Hoyt

    Need for crosscut sled?

    Thread Starter: Steve Mathews

After watching the video below I'm questioning the need for my crosscut sled. It seems that mine rarely gets used in favor of an Incra miter gauge, which I find easier to handle than the bulky and heavier crosscut sled. The only complaint with the miter gauge is it doesn't stay square or at least...

Slicing Veneer with the Amazing Woodmaster CT

    Thread Starter: John TenEyck

After the recent discussion about resaw blades, I thought I would show some photos I took today slicing some walnut veneer. Here's a photo of my bandsaw, with an auxiliary tall fence, roller feather board developed by John Lanciani, and of course a Woodmaster CT, 1" x 1.3 tpi in this case. ...

    Lighting the Small Workshop
    By Jack Lindsey

"Ten years have passed since I wrote the Fine Woodworking article on lighting the small shop," Jack Lindsey explains, but much has changed. Jack comprehensively explores lighting a hobbyist or small industrial shop, drawing on over 25 years of professional lighting experience, covering topics such as fixture and ballast selection, lamp life, and color when employing fluorescent lamps.

I have a theory on what happened and thought it may help others if it is what caused the Laser to stop firing.

What the heck is going on with mineral spririts?

That's interesting considering it's sold as paint thinner and many of us also use it for cleaning because it doesn't leave a film behind like "mineral

Any advantage with different bandsaw speeds?

This is from a small data pool, so take it for what it's worth. I rescued an old Oliver 36" bandsaw that someone started to try to modernize. It
