    Time for some levity

    Thread Starter: Dave Anderson NH

With all of the negativity and political stuff going on with the Covid-19 virus it is time to look at the humorous side of things. Feel free to add more, but keep it clean or it will be deleted.

We are changing the way we have been offering DVD's of our file attachments to those of you who are interested in purchasing the discs. In the past we offered DVD sets that included file attachments from every forum, starting today we will only offer DVD's from each individual forum. The reason for...

    Underbench cabinet

    Thread Starter: Derek Cohen

A few requested that I post the build of the underbench cabinet I am building. I hesitated to do so since this is a blended build; however it is really mostly hand tools, and I have reached the point where it is almost all hand tools. I find it interesting that when I post on the power tool...

Tool Covers (Tool Companies please read)

    Thread Starter: james bell

I prefer to purchase small power tools with cases and whenever I purchase a large tool I also buy a cover. Like most hobbyists, my shop is not humidity controlled, nor heated/cooled, so my tools need protection. I typically buy HTC covers, but for my drill press I got an outdoor single golf bag...

Putting together the Woodland Mills HM-130 Mill and Woodlander Trailer

    Thread Starter: John TenEyck

I placed a phone order with Woodland Mills this past Monday and on Tuesday I picked up my HM-130 mill and trailer crates from the Buffalo, NY distribution center. Picking it up saved me the shipping charges and since it's only 20 miles from my house it was an easy choice. The only way to pick it...

Thoughts on new Woodpeckers DP Pro Drill Press Fence

    Thread Starter: John Goodin

Does anyone have experience or thoughts about the new woodpecker drill press fence? Basically it is hollow aluminum rectangle tube with with an opening in the center and attachment for a shop vac on the end. This allows the fence to be a conduit for dust collection. The link below also show the...

From the first time I saw pictures of Stuart Mortimers signature twist work, I knew I wanted to try one myself, but I feared it was too difficult and time consuming. Stuarts book, Techniques of Spiral Work- A Practical Guide to the Craft of Making Twists by Hand, and an article in the May 2006 issue of Woodturning were the sources of inspiration and also great learning tools. It was when Mark Hubl showed his first spiral piece that I finally decided I would give it a try. There are many ways this work can be done, but here is the way I make twisted finials. As with any woodturning project, if something doesn't feel right to you, don't do it!!
