In upstate NY I'm surrounded by BBQ options - pig, chicken, beef brisket. It is quite common up here. Heck, all winter long going back and forth to my ski instructor gig, there would be a guy set up in a parking lot in Ithaca on (sometimes Thursday), Friday, Saturday. Often in the rain, sometimes in the snow. Tag -along trailer, tent as necessary. They are usually bigger smokers and bigger critters than that one, though. From around 1990 until covid, our EAA chapter put on an annual Fathers' Day pig roast that was well attended. But we all got old and it has not recovered since. smt
