This honey locust pot was turned green and quite thin and will go home with my sister tomorrow. It's about 5 1/2" x 3" and finished with danish oil and Beal buffed. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Very nice work Cyril! Love the grain and form! Should warp into something really cool! Bet your sister loves it!

Am I seeing this right? Is the grain running across the pot? So you were turning side-end-side-end grain on every revolution?!?

Honeylocust is bad enough to turn along the grain, this must have been... YIKES!

Very nice piece out of my favorite wood.

Thanks to all for the comments. Scott, this was turned end grain and has some crotch figure.

The pot is really nice. It makes me look forward (sort of) to pulling down 5 150 year old honey locust trees on our property in southern Utah. They have lived beyond their normal life span and it's probably only a few years away till they have to be pulled down. Now I have to find a local sawyer who will work for a share of the lumber.

Nice form, I have seen a few projects here lately made from honey locust and its really an interesting wood, might have to try some of that.
