Cracked Lens

I have a Universal M300 and I discovered today that my 2.0 lens is cracked. Can anyone tell me why or how this could have happened?

Vivian I think with the universal lasers air cooling is of the utmost importance so if you didn't have it running on your last job it is possible that the heat from the laser has crept up.

Generally its cos the lens gets dirty and the laser beam , instead of passing right thru the lens , hits the dirt and heats the lens up.

Thank you so much. When I run my laser I alway's have the exhaust set to run with it. I'm sure it's because I didn't Clean the focal lens enough. I guess my next step is to call tech support tomorrow and get a new lens. I was just hoping that someone was going to tell me that it wasn't going to cost $ 230.00 to replace. Merry Christmas!

Depending on available mechanical skills, these people have good quality bare lenses for around 100-bucks. I have used them for many years.
