Anyone have any recommendtions on decent 20" planer blades that are good quality and not a fortune?

I need a set of 4 20" x 1" x 1/8".

My origional blades are in need of sharpening and I would like to have a backup set around.

I have a set of infinity jointer knives and I have been happy with them.

Infinity - $124
Grizzly - $120
Holbren- $90

Suggestions or comments? Any others that I should be looking at?

Thanks for any help.

James,

Great sharpening service, don't know what they get for 20" blades.

Their saw blades are comparable to Forrest in quality, some say better.

They've made some custom saw blades for me that I was very happy with and the price was quite reasonable. Worth a call.

The Freud item is C050 (that's a single knife). Google for pricing here:

I have had good service from the Freud blades in a jointer as well as stock ridgid blades and grizzly blades.

Most companies don't list what kind of steel is used but as long as it is quality tool steel they should all give great service.

Charles, would you know which blades would fit a Powermatic 209 20" planer?

Thanks, Ed
