Mahogany Cigar Pen - Family Gift Exchange

So my randomly selected family member, for our gift exchange, wrote down on his gift wish list "Anything".

I believe this qualifies since it is not nothing. What do you think?

Also, I think its mahogany, but I'm not sure since I fished it out of the scrap pile. Am I right?

I really like the ribbon effect that wraps around the grain. At first I just thought I wasn't getting out the lower grit scratches until I took a closer look.

Finish is simply wet sanded with BLO up to 2000 grit.

Pen looks great...During our family Christmas exchange, I got an order for a pen for next year. Basically told me anything would be fine for gift, then heard I was making pens. So anything became a gift request for pen.
