Folks,

My wife asked me to help her unload some stuff from the back of her S10 Blazer. So as always, I went out to her SUV, but to my surprise,
found a Brand New RIDGID BS1400 14" bandsaw. She said Merry Christmas. Haven't opened the box yet, just rolled it back to my shop with a dolly. Last Christmas she bought me a Table saw. My wife is a keeper.

She certainly is!! I presume things have come from said table saw for her use and pleasure? If not, gitcher butt in gear!:D. Happy Holidays to the both of you.

Folks,

I assembled the bandsaw this morning. It runs very smoothly, no vibration or anything. Yes, I made her cherry end tables with Said tablesaw.

Merry Christmas

Joe... I have this bandsaw as well, and am happy with it. Its not a resaw monster, but no bandsaw with a 3/4 horse motor is. I have had to do some tweaking on mine, but it is a very worthy addition to my shop and I use it almost daily. Ridgid has a good forum with lots of info regarding this saw and the issues it has. Forum rules prohibit me from direct linking the Ridgid forum, but a simple search will find it quickly.
Thank you wife for the saw(Im sure you did already)throw away the blade that comes with the saw and get a couple good blades, buy yourself a good book on bandsaws if you dont have much experience, and buy a good book on bandsawn boxes(below are the 2 I recommend) and have a great time with your new tool. Below the book recomendations is a link to a thread I posted here about a simple bandsawn box project.

Well Joe...obviously she decided you were a keeper also. Give her a hug and some more finished projects. Next Christmas isn't that far away!!

Congrats on the new saw!

I use my bandsaw more than I ever thought I would. It is a very nice tool.

I'd make her something real nice with the tools...
