I have two daughters and a son and each one is going to get a pepper mill, salt mill and set of napkin rings along with a set of eight napkins my wife made for them--the napkins are monogrammed on one side and are reversible as seen in the two pics.
These are pictures of one set made from walnut and curly maple with walnut napkin rings and ring holder. I made each set of mills out of a dark and light wood and made two set of walnut and two sets of maple napkin rings.
I haven't decided who gets which set so may have them draw numbers and pick their own set--not sure if that is smart either. The napkin rings turned out to be almost more work than the mills.

Nice work Bob. Very nice shape on the mills, interesting and attractive without being overdone.

Beautiful work, Bob. The walnut for the rings and post is especially well figured. Great gift!

Very nice, I just finished a set of eight napkin rings myself. I'd be interested to know your technique. I was just kind of winging it when I made mine but they turned out fairly well.
