Router Scoring

Just saw the recent Router Workshop tips that talks about scoring to reduce or eliminate tearout when routing with the grain. I hadn't thought of that, and in case someone else hasn't, here's the link:

A quick, light climb cut (scoring cut) should generally be SOP when using a dovetail jig for half-blind dovetails, for example. It really does make a difference!
