Hey everyone! I'm looking for a zero clearence insert for my table saw like the one that Norm uses. If you are not familiar with it, it's metal with adjusting screws and has removable inserts that you can switch out when you need a new one. I have a Delta 36-977 LT contractor saw. I have looked many places and cannot find them anywhere. I use several types of blades and do not want to make a ZCI for each and every one. Thanks in advance for the help!

I made my own out of UHMW with replaceable inserts. ZCI's are easy to make and less expensive than buying.

I've been looking at one myself and I think this is the one you're talking about: http://www.onlinetoolreviews.com/reviews/betterleytrucut.htm

My local Rockler blew four of the Betterleys out at $30 each as they are not going to carry them any more. None of them fit my saw or I might have bought a ZCI for the first time in my life. When it's time for my next shop made batch, I think I'll route out for a slide-in piece instead of making a whole new set of plates. If I follow through, I'll post them ;-)

Betterley still offers the one your looking for: http://www.betterleytools.com/

Its listed under "solid surface tools".

Dave, Scott's not talking about the Betterly ZCI's

Scott, you can buy the ZCI for $69,500 plus inventory.

Wood Dynamics is for sale. Went out of buisness I guess.

Scott,
I did some research and it appears as though the Delta contractor saws have a standard size insert plate. I could not find even one that was listed for a certain model. If you have a Woodcraft nearby, go buy the standard Delta one and if it doesn't fit take it back.
