My sister is in town for Christmas and asked me to turn a goblet for her to give to one of her friends. She picked the wood from a few pieces I had. This is cocobolo with some sapwood. It's 6.25" tall, a hair under 2" dia. This is a finish I've tried lately that I really like. It's minwax wood-sheen in natural color. Kind of a gel type oil that you can use like friction polish. I found it at Michael's craft store. http://www.minwax.com/products/one_step_stain_and_finishes/wood_sheen.cfm (http://www.minwax.com/products/one_step_stain_and_finishes/wood_sheen.cfm)

Wow! Very nice goblet Curt! Beautiful wood and I love the stem! Nice flow to everything - great proportions! Your sister must be thrilled with it!
Thanks for sharing!

Great job, Curt. I just showed that to my wife. Her response: "It's 5 days till Christmas. After you finish the other things, you still have time to make me one of those."

Beautiful work. Is this all one piece or did you turn it in two separate pieces? Sorry for the ignorance.
