I have a DD208 purchased from Home Depot. I chipped the teeth on 1 1/4" chipper and the 1/8" shipper due to not tightening the arbor nut tight enough and the blades shifting. How much would it cost to replace those 2 chippers?

Thanks, Chris

Chris,

The replacement chippers are the SD208C16 (1/16") and SD208C18 (1/8"). I think you may be measuring the tips to get the 1/4" and 1/8" dimensions. These are available through any Freud dealer but may be special order. A Google search for Freud SD208C18 or SD208C16 should bring up sources and pricing.

I have a related question so I hope I am not hijacking the thread. Can you buy the 3/32nd blade that comes in the Super Dado and use it with the Pro set?

Buying new chippers is certainly possible and isn't a bad idea but have you contacted a sharpening service? They often replace carbide teeth that are damaged on blades and there isn't any reason they can't do the same to a chipper. Assuming they have access to the correct tooth to re-braze on.

Thanks for the info. I was measuring the chippers wrong. I also had not thought about a sharpening service

Geoff,

Unfortunately, the SD500 and SD600 series chippers are not compatible with the DD200 and SD200 series dado sets.
