I recently moved to the Central Texas area and am looking to outfit my shop with some refurbished tools, they just don't make them like they used to. I'm only aware of two guys who do it on the west coast. I'm particularly interested in Oliver and Yates equipment. I'm looking for something a little closer where I could pick it up or at least reduce the shipping charges. Any suggestions?

Here are their websites:

www.davisandwells.com In Lynwood, CA
www.vintageamerican.com in OR(i think)

Thanks,
Sean

Not sure if you want the full resto job with paint and all, but if a simple rebuild to good working condition is ok, try Ben at Pleasant st. machinery, Dekalb IL. #815-793-6534.
I've dealt with him and he's a good guy. Not all that close to me either, but the shipping was very reasonable.
good luck,

There's a store on Peachtree Lane in Balch Springs [Dallas area] where they have big iron tools aplenty, but they are not refurbed by them. Some are in great shape and some aren't. I saw a 20' tall bandsaw there once. Wish I had the name of it but I can't place it right now. I'll try and get it for you.
