Guys,I want to make acouple of mobile bases for my PM30 sander and Giz drum sander.I can fine ever kind of caster there is on earth but,I cannot fine the ones that you roll around, swivel, then you flip the lever with your foot and it lowers to the floor. You have seen them on just about all the store bought mobile bases.I think they are called foot control casters. What is the proper name for them and where on earth can a person perchase them.Thanks--SMCer's Carroll

If you are looking for the one on the Rockler mobile base, I know that Rockler did sell the foot caster only separate at one time.

That is actually an engineered assembly consisting of a caster and a method to lower it . . . .

There are many ways to accomplish the same result. I personally do not like them, they seem to be trip hazards . . .

What are you trying to accomplish . . . Lay it out in a brief "use" example and maybe someone can find what you want or steer you to an alternate design . . .

Rockler has their base on sale right now for $40.

I have 3 of them, one on the table saw, one of the bandsaw and the other one my planer.

I like them and they work great for me and you can make them any size you need.
