Morse Taper adapters?

First time in this forum, just getting going on turning.

I have a MT 3 tail stock and a MT 2 drill chuck. Is there an adapter/arbor of some sort that will allow me to use the MT 2 drill chuck or should I just buy a new MT 3 chuck?

I can see MT 3 to other standards, but I can't find MT 3 to MT 2.

Is this what you are looking for. It goes from a #2 to #3. If your chuck is #2 and you want to fit it to a #3 tailstock I think this may be the one you want. Maybe I misunderstood.

I agree that the name sounds right, but you need a taper into the MT 2 and a taper at the other side into the MT 3. I actually own one already, because I thought it would work, but it doesn't. It tapers into the MT2 side, but gets bigger at the MT3 end. I'm sure it works for something, but not for my problem.

I can see all sorts of arbors that are tapered at both ends, but not one for MT2 to MT3.

Depending on the drill chuck, you may just need a second arbor. Many chucks are on an arbor with a Jacobs taper on one end for the chuck and a Morse taper on the other end to fit a machine.

Just couldn't figure this out, but tried again this morning and the MT2 to 3 adapters I have work fine. Couldn't figure out how they worked before, but they are a sleeve and step down the size just fine.

Another stupid question solved the hardest way, thanks everyone.
