I am routing white oak with Woodline raised panel bit. Bit is sharp ( or at least new, I did used it for 3-4 times only). My router DW 618, using slow speed and very slow feeding by hand. Problem is - I got so many burn mark on panel:(. If I will increase router speed - I 'm getting a lot of chipping from edge of panel.
Any suggestions? or I just need to sand all marks and that's it? To many panels to sand:(:(

Probably feeding it too slow.
Take off 2-3 cuts instead of 1.

When I run into that, I get the cut down close to where I want it then make the last pass as fast as possible (feed rate). The trick is to have just enough material left so when you make the last pass you get all the burn off with out having to reposition your hands and therefore causing a burn. A power feeder will usually solve the problem. Dick B.
