1/2 inch router bits on a Leigh Jig

Leigh seems to recommend 8mm or 1/4" bits for everything but the really big dovetails. I have a bunch of dovetail bits with 1/2" shanks and I have the 5/8" bushing to go with them. Any reason not to use them if all the other dimensions match?

I think you will be fine. You might have to adjust the finger assembly farther toward the back, to accommodate the larger diameter; I am not sure whether this would also affect the spacing.

You might try calling the Leigh Customer Support folks, as they will confirm, before you use any wood on the jig.
