I've been wanted an OSS for some time. I have been watching for a decent deal on the Jet floor standing machine for over a year. I just purchased a MAX industrual OSS for $550. New they are in the neighborhood of $4000. This one has all the spindles and table inserts, and it's a 1 phase machine. Here is a pic and a link to more info. WTG!! I'd rather procure a nice *bargain* than eat breakfast! That's one hunk of machinery!

My bargain was an old Boice-Crane OSS. The machine works fine after a thorough cleaning of the gear box, but I cannot find any spindles with #1 Morse taper. IF I live long enough, I will get my Atlas 12" metal lathe back together and turn my own. You are lucky yours came *Complete!*

The funny thing is that the store had an old JET clone of the MAX sitting next to it. Rougher shape, missing splindles, and clearly lighter built. Priced higher than the MAX. I guess lots of folks only buy the names they see advertised in WW mags. Their loss my gain :D
