I've been using EEE-Ultra Shine over CA for my "shiny" finish. I'm happy with the results, but I'm wondering something. Am I basically buffing by doing this? I assume I'm buffing and waxing too. Heck at this point I'm so confused I don't know what's going on.

Any thoughts? Am I doing a really dumb thing?

Scott,

EEE-Ultra Shine is basically the same Tripoli compound you would use with your 1st buffing wheel, albeit using a softer wax. ("EEE", get it? Three 'E's, is, like, you know, a triple-E. Ha! These marketers are so funny.) So, yes, you're basically buffing.

EEE-Ultra Shine is a nice product and every once in a while I wish I had some.

I bought some EEE-Shine. I've used it on dozens of pens and other small projects. It does a nice job of smoothing after a sealer. I've had this container for about 4 years and still haven't used 50% of it.

It is getting a bit dry. Anyone suggest something to make it softer and less dry?

I use EEE after 2 or 3 coats of BLO/CA on pens. After the EEE I use Renaissance wax.
This works.

Fred, I had some getting dry on me and stirred in mineral spirits.
