I spent around 4 hours today with the walk behind snow blower and blade on my John Deere tractor clearing my 300 foot drive way. We have been getting 1/2 to 3/4 inch per hour since late yesterday.
Sure looks like a Winter Wonderland outside, ya gotta love it. :D

Dang and all we have in Indy is rain. I like my four seasons after spending 20 yrs in Houston slapping 'squitoes at Christmas.

Enjoy!

Yikes. Guess I'll shuddup about the rain here and hope it doesn't come any further east.

Got a little snow here in KC today which got me all excited about late season bow hunting.... til ya look at thee the flags snapping in the 30mph winds.......
I'd be fine with the 14" of snow you have David, and you can have our nukin' winds.

I was just thinking this afternoon that I was glad it wasn't colder because we'd be getting a you-know-what load of snow if it was.

It's just north of us in the G.R. area. Time to fire up the sled!

The snow fall now stands at 20 inches and it is still snowing. All of the schools in the area were closed today and will still be closed tomorrow. The back roads are almost unusable and many have not been plowed due to the 24 hours a day plowing on the primary roads.

We have a chance for a dusting here this weekend, but none yet this year.
In the mountains about 40 miles away they have gotten 18" in the last 48 hours but not enough to open the ski lifts yet.

Yesterday morning it was 10F when I got up and it was spitting small and occasional bits of white stuff. This morning winds were 20mph gusting to 40 and it was55F. Yea gads, this is NH in winter?

I've spent 6-10 hours a day for the past 5 days plowing the stuff. I talked to a buddy up in the Freesoil area (about 60 miles north of me) and he has almost 3 feet on the ground. It makes are 2 feet look tame.

Snow plowing isn't to bad if you don't have to do it all day.

I did it for a job for a winter (doing a condo complex and parking lots) and it lost a lot of the "charm" pretty quick.

Now I do mine and the neighbors drives with my little Kubota. Since it takes less than an hour it isn't to bad.

Well, we're slated to get 2+ inches today...of rain. It would be nice to have a white Christmas for a change, but I'm not taking bets on it!

Jim,
If you do not get any snow for the holiday send a truck to Michigan we have plenty. :D

Where's here? You may wish to fill out your profile a tad more to reveal that to us...if you like. :)

Chris,
When I was in the news business I spent many nights on the streets of the Bay Area and if we wanted entertainment we would park near some of the hills in SF and watch police cars try to code 3 when it did snow once every ten years. Sort of like a Keystone Cop movie.
If Mt Diablo, Loma or Tam are in view you can always take a look at the top on a cold Winter day, snow is the white stuff that is on the peak.

David,

I'm sure you know I was jesting but in fact, I am originally from Colorado and grew up with skis on my feet (I didn't even know I had ankles) and truth be told, I dearly miss snow and 4 real seasons. However, LOML loves the weather here and doesn't miss CO one bit so guess where we've been the last 10 years...and guess where we will likely be for the next 10 years! ;)
