These are some ornaments I made this weekend.
The first one is Cocobolo and Canarywood. It's 7" x 1.75"

This one is Walnut with Maple, 6" x 1.75"

This is another Cocobolo and Canarywood with the Canarywood for the finial and icicle, 6" x1.75"

Beautiful ornaments Curt! Love all of the detailed icicles! Very nice wood color combinations! Are you selling these or making as gifts? What are you using for a finish? Everything looks great - thanks for sharing!

Curt, those are absolutely amazing. Please tell me when you started turning and how long it's been since you first started making ornaments like this. They are truly stunning!!! How long does it take from start to finish to make one? Again, really neat Curt. You are a very skilled turner to produce work like that. Nice job friend!

Those are really well done. I especially like the fineals. Do you use full size tools for your fineals, or do you use mini tools?

Please tell me when you started turning and how long it's been since you first started making ornaments like this. How long does it take from start to finish to make one?

David, I've made similar ornaments for a couple years but just started making the segmented ones since I stumbled onto a dumpster behind a custom cabinet and door mill that has a never ending supply of wood that's perfect for these ornaments. And I just happen to like doing small spindle work. If you ever watched me hack my way through a bowl or hollowform you'd get a good laugh.
