Well, I burned up the belt for my DW735 planer and the manual says I need to seek a qualified service center for this repair. But I am having difficulty finding one in New Hampshire. Does anyone have instructions on how to do this. I have the belt.

John, the following is a link for instructions on replacing the cutterhead on a DW735. Contained within you can figure out how to change out the belt, as removing and reinstalling the belt is one of the steps necessary for the cutterhead replacement.

Addendum: Upon rereading the instructions, there's one more thing. You can access the belt at the top by removing the little black louvered thingy above and to the right of the cutterhead pulley.

Can you tell me how difficult it was to replace the belt. I think mine got fried this evening when I started it with a peice of wood in the planer. I found a belt on ereplacement parts and wondering if I should bring it in to the local shop or do it myself.

thanks,
Rick

If you have any mechanical ability, do it yourself. If not, take it in.
Follow the directions, and it's easy. Here they are;
