Good morning guys, I need to get some more screws for my Kreg system and see some that are listed as #2's and some as #8's but when you look at the picture they have the same square drive hole and same washer head, can someone tell me what the difference is?

One other quick question, with so many replies here everyday how do you guys find the threads you want to go to more quickly. I don't always have the time to go thru all the responses. Thanks Pat

I just go to new posts and scroll down.
You can also have them send you an email of threads that you post to.

Scott, I have been to that page but it doesn't say anything about the #2 vs the #8 question?
The way you describe reading the posts is how I'm doing it now but usually after a couple of days there are like 10 pages plus of other threads to sort thru, thanks for the reply. Pat

Kreg square drive screws are #7 or #8 screw bodies. The 7 being smaller in diameter than 8. The only reference to #2 refers to the square drive bit size used to insert the screws.

So you have choices are #7 or #8 size screws in different lengths, and coarse or fine threads, and choice of washer-head or square-head styles.

Chip's got it. The #2 you are seeing is the driver size, as in #0 - #3 (http://www.mcfeelys.com/product/KLT-0664/4-pc-Klein-Screwdriver-Set--Square-Drive).

Pat, Welcome to the Creek, the waters are broad and deep but friendly.

This thread (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=83973&highlight=posts)explains a good way of limiting the number of forums you have to wade through. And Chip explained the #2 size square drive socket above. I get my screws through McFeely's.
