More ambrosia maple, the bark was gone when I roughed it so I decided to make it thin and sand the rim. I also hate a foot on a bowl but I thought this one needed one. Measures 14 x 10 x 4. Walls are 1/8 thick. Buffed sealcoat finish.

Another beautiful piece Mike! The foot helps the piece "float" above the surface just a bit. Viewed from the side or below, as on an elevated shelf, it might be detrimental, but is helpful for "normal" viewing angles from somewhat above the piece.

That is one fine piece Mike, and T-H-I-N!!

What made you choose to sand the rim instead of burning it?? :D

Very nice Mike! Beautiful wood! Really like the wavy natural edge and the worm holes! The foot works on this piece (I normally don't like a foot on a bowl either) and I like how it is very low profile. Nice finish also - real soft look to it!

Mike,

Beautiful as always, though I'm not sure I would call that a bowl with a foot, more like a bowl with toes:). The "foot" is so slight that it is not a problem in my estimation, it just raises the bowl slightly and really sets it off.
