I am planning on mounting my Kreg Bench Clamp to my Festool MFT.

Has anyone else done this?

I haven't decided where to place it yet so if anyone has advice I'd like to hear it.

I mortised the large plated kreg clamp into the mft and put the back edge of the plate just under the guide rail and dead center. Love it and use it often. The glue squeeze out ends up on the plate instead of the mft. I made sure the rail would not interfere with the clamp when in use and went from there. Highly recomend doing it.

Steve,

Works like a charm.
No need to use the plate at all.
Run down to the hardware store and purchase a longer bolt and fender washer.
Bring the clamp and a small piece of 3/4 for a test.
You can now place the clamp any where your heart desires
and you won't limit your table.
Hope this helps.

PS
I found a allen headed bolt to be better suited then standard.

I use Jorgensen clamps (https://www.adjustableclamp.com/replacementparts/products3.asp?subcatID=83). They are cheap ($4.00 each) and I can use 2 or 3 when I need to. Just a cheaper alternative.

Have you guys seen the long reach (6" vs 3") version of this clamp? Hope to have four under the tree. I really like the Kreg products. I added the track to an aux table on my mortiser and the clamps work great!.
