Hi All,

Looking at Frank's amazing gift box, I am now wondering why the bottom of the engraved parts are not black from burning out the pattern.

Frank, did you sand blast or something or is that the way it happens with that wood?

My laser is out of commission at the moment so I can't experiment and it will drive me nuts not knowing.:eek:

Provided the speed isn't too slow, there is no burning, if you try to get too deep with the engraving it will burn.

Thanks Frank, have a great time in Barbados.

My laser should be up and running again Tuesday when you are lounging around on the beach sipping pink drinks with umbrellas in them. What color am I??? Green, that's what.

Thanks Dave, truth is you probably wouldn't like it that much. Too much sea, sand and beer..... no wait, what am I saying? Tough Dave!
