Ray almost always this is associated with Jesus (fisher of men) but this seems to be a 'tattoo' style

I believe this is a logo for a surfboard company that also manufacture a line of surfing clothes out of Hawaii. I could be wrong but I seem to remember it as a logo.

Generally these types of graphics have been known as "tribal". I agree with Rags, I believe this to be from the Pacific Ocean region. I also agree with Franck. This would be a modified version of what Frank is talking about.
